Hello from Froglife’s New Patron: Mike Dilger

As we have mentioned in previous Croaks, we are thrilled to announce that Froglife has a new Patron.  Naturalist and broadcaster Mike Dilger has joined the team to support our reptile and amphibian conservation and education work.

The face of wildlife on the BBC’s One Show, Mike has worked with Froglife on a number of occasions, including supporting our Tuppence a Toad campaign.  With his enthusiastic approach to bringing natural history into people's living rooms, Mike is a great fit with Froglife's aims to share inspire new audiences to join our mission to conserve animals and habitats.

“Amphibians and reptiles are incredible animals, in real need of our help and protection,” explains Mike. “Having seen Froglife in action with their education and conservation projects, I am delighted to get more involved and to help promote them and the species they work so hard to conserve. I’ve been lucky enough to see the Big Newt Count in action, to have met some great Toad Patrollers as well as some of the young people that Froglife helps get back on track. I can’t wait to get more involved with their work.”

Mike has also been working on his own wildlife garden, creating a pond last year that had its first frogspawn in 2012!

We are delighted to have him on the team and look forward to getting Mike out and about even more, meeting amphibians, reptiles and the people we work with.
